Long Eaton Astronomical Society

On 23rd November I returned to my old school in Long Eaton to give a talk to their astronomical society about exoplanets. This is the only school in the country that has it’s own observatory and telescopes which are used for use by the public and students. Unfortunately for myself the observatory was built after I left the school, but hopefully in the future it will help inspire a generation of astronomers.

During the visit I discussed how find planets around other stars and also some of the most recent planets to be discovered. Throughout there was interesting discussions on the potential for life on some of these planets and what the future might hold.
